The BELIEVE in Peace Contest
This year’s theme, “BELIEVE in Peace,” is focused on regaining unity within our world. The work submitted should illustrate views of world peace between races, cultures, countries, and religions of the world.
Submissions should reflect a call-to-action as to how we can gain world peace in 2016.
This art contest will encompass two new submission areas that have never been done at the museum before.

Social Media Posts
Hand drawn submitted to the museum may be submitted in crayon, paint, oil, pencil and on paper. Submissions should be no larger than typical printer paper, 8 ½ x 11. The illustration may be framed or unframed.
Essays must be between 100-700 words and must include the topics of current world issues and a call-to-action as to how we can combat these issues.
Digital Artwork may be of any size with any colors. It must made with images that are rightful property of the submitter, whether that be images taken by the submitter and designed by the submitter. Images on the poster may be from the internet, but rightful credit must be given for the poster to gain entry.
Social Media Posts with the hashtag #AAMMBelieves will be entered into the contest. Images that are submitted to this hashtag via Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook will be compiled and one submitter from each social media platform will win based on the quality of their post. On these social medias, images must have proper credit if taken from the internet, and short posts with a powerful message of peace will also be taken into consideration when choosing a winner.
Entries must be submitted by Midnight on January, 31st, 2016.
Prizes are $50 VISA Gift Cards. The teacher with the most submissions will also receive $50 to supply their classrooms with whatever they see fit.

Schools and organizations may participate, however prizes will be distributed to individuals unless designated by participant. The Museum is not responsible for any damage or delay of receipt of a submission. Winners will be notified the week of January 4th, 2016. Prizes will be distributed at our First Annual Unity in Diversity Dinner. The Winners’ illustration will be posted at the Museum from January 1 thru March 31, 2016 for all to see. Members of the Board, Management and sponsors as well as their immediate families may submit illustrations but are not eligible for prizes. All submissions will remain the property of the African American Multicultural Museum and will not be returned in any form. The Museum reserves the right to amend contest rules and display or dispose of the illustration at will.
